The lure of Paris, perhaps Europe’s most glamorous city, attracts everyone from the romantics right through to young families. From the iconic monuments to the picturesque café lined streets of daily life, there is something around every corner.

As the great Audrey Hepburn said, ‘Paris is always a good idea’. So, on your next trip to the city of love, why not embellish in luxury accommodation?

Luxury hotels in Paris

Cafe Paris

Figures from 2015 show that there are over 70 five star hotels in Greater Paris. That’s a lot of hotels to sift through if you’re looking to stay in the ultimate luxurious hotel. These luxury hotels in Paris range from grand dames to hotels with palace status to those more ornate found in close proximity to the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre.

Here are three of our favourite luxurious hotels in Paris:

Shangri-La Hotel, Paris

The Shangri-La is a classy French Empire style hotel. The impressive architecture from the 19th century runs through the entire hotel. It’s grandeur appearance in cemented in the knowledge that it was once the private mansion for Napoleon’s great-nephew.

The old-world elegance of Paris is reflected seamless in each of the hotel’s 100 room. The best rooms boast terraces with astounding views of the Eiffel Tower and River Seine.

Le Bristol

Le Bristol is a distinguished hotel based on one of the city’s most fashionable streets, Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The hotel is extremely Parisian and elegant throughout and holds the mantle of being the first of six hotels in Paris to be awarded the Palace distinction (above five star grading).

There is a focus on tradition at this hotel with old-style door keys instead of room cards, a working 1940’s lift and classic chandeliers. The 188 guest rooms that overlook the private French gardens are sound-proofed from city noise and are family-friendly.

If that isn’t enough Le Bristol has its own triple Michelin-starred restaurant, Epicure.

Louvre

Le Meurice

Opened in 1815, Le Meurice is the original Paris palace hotel. Found in the heart of Paris on Rue de Rivoli, the hotel epitomises elegance and every bedroom and suite is unique with different styles and features.

Guests to the hotel are in good company with many famous faces over the years, kings and queens included. Salvador Dali used to reside in the hotel for a month every year for 30 years, Picasso and his wife had their wedding dinner here and, more recently, Jay-Z and Kanye West recorded the biggest hit from their 2011 ‘Watch the Throne’ album here.

The grand suite on the hotel’s top floor which boasts a vast roof terrace, is frequently used by household names. This suite comes with a celebrity price tag but there are 160 other rooms which are more modest in price.
